The 'Genocide' bandwagon

This is a hot topic now in Sri Lanka used mainly by the Tamil Tigers(LTTE), human right activists, Amnesty International, other INGOs/NGOs and some of the charitable organisations. There are hidden agendas behind this movement and need to highlight few facts:

  • Articles on 'Genocide' was published by almost all above organisations and mostly to their advantage to justify their existence. Individual people and Responsible authorities in Sri Lanka have confirmed that genocide was committed by the LTTE in the north to rid the Sinhalese and Muslim population and create a mono ethnic state for Tamils.
  • When genocide took place in the late 80's and early 90's none of the HRW, AI and international community was not concerned and no steps taken to stop civilian death.
  • The present situation in Sri lanka was caused by the LTTE due to large population of innocent Tamil civilians being held against their will as they are the human shield to protect the world most ruthless terrorist group. Therefore, the death of Tamil civilians are due to LTTE and the UN, NGO and INGO are silent on this subject.
  • The Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) still continue to supply food, medicine, water and other essential items to the civilian population in the care centres for IDPs as well as LTTE held enclave about 30 sq Km in the Mullaitivu area. The civilians escaping the clutches of the LTTE says that LTTE keep most items and only supply a fraction of that to the civilians. This is also a kind of genocide taking place at present and perhaps testing the survival of the fittest.
  • LTTE stop the civilians escaping from the enclave and have shot large number of them attempting to escape, yet again highlighting the genocide of the Tamil population. The number of innocent Tamil civilians injured and/or killed when trying to escape from LTTE due to anti personal mines (AP) and other booby traps are significant.
